This work week was long and I would much rather stay home.
My friends love to party and play drinking games, yet I seem to play wrong.
I usually get too into my feelings after a few short rounds and end up with my face long.
Singing love songs, feeling left out of the loop of love—feeling weak, yet I fake strong.
But tonight feels different, like it’s love in the air and my lungs are getting full.
My heart is always on my sleeve, leading the way—and tonight I feel the pull.
“Tonight is the night,” I thought to myself—then my inner voice doubted, “I bet.”
But as soon as I started to loose sight of love—that’s when our eyes met.
There you were—the woman of my dreams.
I almost pinched myself, wondering if this was as real as it seems.
Then I ordered a second drink, thinking I may have found a wife.
Then I went to approach the missing piece of my life.
For now, we’ll start with tonight—locking eyes from across a dark room.
I hadn’t had a sip yet, so the warmth I was feeling was from when the sparks flew.
I was bit by the love bug the first night.
It was love at first sight.
