Soul Sucking
Harvest of Memory Challenge Entry
Give me your midnight rememberings.
.
Lie back on the stiff mattress and open yourself
To the hungry wanderings of my roving fingers.
Spread your legs for me, let me slip into the crevices.
I will be gentle in my harvest of your silvery magic.
.
Let me dip my hands into your thoughts.
.
Surrender the idea that you've not begged the shadows
To run their hands across your flesh and peel you open.
You crave this destruction, this touch, this gathering
Of your essence, this swallowing of your ephemeral soul.
.
I want to pull the seeds from your soil.
.
Let me drag my teeth across your bones like a combine.
Give up the stars, give up the seeds, give it up to me.
Let me plant them in bogs of blood and silver moonlight
Where you can watch them grow as you wilt and die.
.
You are a delicacy to me.
.
It feels good, doesn't it, to be worshipped by a shadow,
By a thing here in the night and gone in the morning.
Nothing lasts forever, so let me take the prettiest pieces
Of your existence and plant them in the soil of my chest.
.
I will starve for the opportunity to harvest you.
.
Give yourself over, let me drink your dreams.
Oh Christ, lie back and let me ravish you.
I am breaking from this wanton hunger
So feed me all of your rememberings.
.
Let me harvest the essence of you.
