Soul Patch

The Things We Remember, But Wish We Could Have Forgotten

Love had no seams

Limits were not, except those in wildest dreams

No stitches sewn

Except for those in our sides from jokes known

By campfire, admire, hearts heated synchronization

Nothing held back, no question, no hesitation

Like patches on a quilt, so did memories fade

What would have happened had they stayed?

Were all those years wasted?

Is it just caulked up to something past tasted?

Never slip or fall or so shall withdrawal

Forgiveness not a thing foresaw

Roasted heart on a spit

Through heart sob, and teeth grit

Then came the rain, pelting, hailing prevail

Off blew the kindled warmth in frozen, gusty gale
