Somewhere Between

a poem of transformation

Here I lay

somewhere between

the old and the new

broken yet whole

shedding and bleeding

feeling it all

each dreaded layer

regrets and remorse

rise and fall

Here I lay

swollen and solemn

victimized by truth

a phantom of fear

clings to my soul

the light on the horizon

glimmers softly

promising shade and safety

beneath a glistening sun

Here I lay

somewhere between

yesterday’s tomorrows

And a future’s past

practicing patience

learning to love

remembering and rewriting

all I have been

to all I can be

Here I lay

in co(n)fusion

grateful for the lessons

of yesterdays past

molding tomorrows possibilities

into this moment

enterally and always

I will lay here, now

Somewhere between.
