Some Things...

a poem

By Michele NampalliPublished about a year ago • Updated about a year ago • 1 min read

Hold still like slabs of marble molded to temple floors

Don't move.

Don't speak.

Don't breathe.

Let it slip away into the night

like a red fox

Don't think.

Don't want.

Don't hope

for more than it can give

It's not meant to be held closely

as if it were a dying star cherished

It's not as soft as you believe

A sleeping snow leopard

with freedom

To roam,

To live,

To love

As it pleases

Only made for frozen mountain tops

Aloof

Alone

A dash of silky white against rocky cliffs

approach softly if you must -

the terrain is home -

A plate of armor should

Suffice.

Don't be careless…

For some things…

Are lovely...

When the lights are dim,

The night is cold,

And mystery shrouds

What should be seen...

About the Creator

Michele Nampalli

This space is breath for my sensitivity. The poems come fully formed. I've known for quite some time now that my art is about receiving more than creation...its the most natural way I know to process my inner world. It started when I was 7.
