Flowers you buy bloom longer than most;
lighting up my kitchen table.
Kisses all over my face,
and sweet words in my ear -
you can do romance
even if truth
escapes you.
Love, you
say.

What a cool form! You did a great job with the structure, the last word was so pointed!
Never heard of a Nonette. Sounds like a sixties backing group! Your poems always have an edge; bitter sweet. The romance is here but that truth line sort of shakes the poem's meaning, subverting it and making you question it. Why can't he do truth? Is he a liar? Or is it simply that he doesn't think he's a romantic? Mmmm....
Awww, this was so sweet! I loved it!
So lovely!
The lines beautifully expresses the bittersweet moments of love.
