Soft remnants of the past
Lovingly embrace me, fast
Memories and stories untold
Forever in my heart, they hold
A candle burning bright
Illuminates a special light
Bringing warmth of a distant time
Like an old and treasured rhyme.
An eternal embrace surrounds me
As I stand in the midst of time
The strength of lasting memories
withstanding the test of time.
I am blessed by those who went before
And what they left behind for us to explore.
Reminders of a simpler past, just like a postcard or photograph.
It is these soft remnants of the past that lovingly embrace me.
They give us hope for a better tomorrow and remind us why we should never forget our past.
All the beauty ever found in life lies within these memories of days gone by.
