i saw your intangible self

across a crowded room

and time literally slowed

and a secret hush fell

somewhat startling my senses

i felt the pull long before i noticed it

then came a gaze into your eyes

and far beyond

that showed more light in the place

that you thought was mostly dark

seasons transitioned

thoughts and ideas grew

a synapse between souls

rendered a connection

beyond where we stood

a synchronicity of two

in the material world

transcended a dimensional

existence

ethereal union of spirits

in two places at one time

unconventional in a

conventional world

my heart was a deep well

still untapped

still unfurled

still mourning

if i had a superpower

i'd go back

and erase everything that ever

misled you

mistreated you

blamed you

burdened you

i'd defeat your fear

i'd slay your giants

and give you back

your freedom and

your feelings

so that you

could have

stayed.
