So Many Meanings
Don't Give Me Any Static/Poem
an unwanted confrontation
as tingles emerge underneath
sitting motionless and hissing
a snap awaiting its release
it's trouble in the making
unsure how tension is perceived
a shock and awe awakening
beyond what energy can see
distorted voices interrupted
interference crackling
communicationally obstructed
a sudden strike disrupting peace
so many ways you can define it
it's hard to put your finger on
a spark that suddenly emits
leaving a sting upon your arm
stirring up trouble or excitement
in an attempt to increase charge
be it with electricity, enlightened
or a fight that needs recharged
either way is symptomatic
arising from another cause
there is no way to deny static
as your hair stands up for its applause
