So Far Gone

6/3/12

I live beyond a tree

Beyond any trail or train

Passed the leaves that fall

Untouched by the rain

I am beyond it all

Beyond the sky but then

Passed the ground

Further than I’ve ever been

Yet closer as well I found

I return without reason

To this place

To this season

And without a face

To see in the mirror

I run ashore

Disturbed by this furor

Without the lore

There is no point to stay

With no book read

There is nothing to say

And with that said

I die in this sack of blood

Ignoring the foray of life

Floating lifeless in the flood

Yet with this strife

I go on and live

I made a way through

With nothing left to give

But with you

It appears to be

Another story another way

One I cannot see

And in this fray

One day I will give in

Stung by the bee

Of death and sin
