snowflakes and memories
*
if memories were like snowflakes
and we saw how fast they faded
maybe we'd forgive those past mistakes
and never keep our loved ones waiting
if forgiveness fell as freely as the snow
it would cover a multitude of sins
consuming the ugliness there,below
rebirth, to try again
if love was like the early frost
we'd learn to appreciate the goosebumps
we'd salvage what should not be lost
maneuvering the ebb and flow of movement
we’d let it filter into each crevice
filling it up, leaving it whole
we’d be better when they leave us
with memories imprinted on our souls
