****

On mornings I was feeling droopy,

I found it hard to leave my bed.

Along would come, my good pal, Snoopy,

alive in visions, in my head.

The many parts he played, amazing,

from simple friend, to pilot, brave.

No matter what, that boy could save me,

put Red Baron and nonsense, in the grave.

Sweet and funny, was that puppy,

always knew how to make me laugh.

Even when life was rough going,

he'd help me escape, its aftermath.

At school on breaks, I'd grab a book,

his face was always on the cover.

One time I grabbed one, without looking,

the language written, in another.

Though I couldn't understand it,

Snoopy urged me to go on.

French the tone, and I spoke English,

slowly stretching my horizons.

Somehow, he still conveyed the story,

another barrier, he helped me climb.

He introduced a new world to me,

and other lessons, all the time.

Like, looking out for those who need you,

he helped out Woodstock, all the time.

And Charlie never felt alone,

Snoopy never left a friend behind.

The silly styles that make him Snoopy,

brought joy and laughter to a kid.

Still today, when I feel goofy,

his antics take me back, again!
