Burning up the Sheets

I fall asleep

mouthing your name

like the words

to a prayer for good dreams

‧₊˚ ☁️⋅♡𓂃💤 ࣪ ִֶָ☾.

I drift off, hoping

they rise and float

over the ocean to your ears

‧₊˚ ☁️⋅♡𓂃💤 ࣪ ִֶָ☾.

Have they been reaching you?

Have you been singing mine back too?

‧₊˚ ☁️⋅♡𓂃💤 ࣪ ִֶָ☾.

That must be why

I have, for the first time

had the most beautiful

sleep trancings

visions of a life unsurpassed

‧₊˚ ☁️⋅♡𓂃💤 ࣪ ִֶָ☾.

The strands of your burnished hair

scorching my lips

as we blaze fearlessly

through the mist

dancing across my

boundless dreamscape

‧₊˚ ☁️⋅♡𓂃💤 ࣪ ִֶָ☾.

Your happiness smile

the truest drug

I could ever possibly ingest

leaving me in bubbly bliss

every time I awake

to the feeling of your

fingers departing

gently gracing the tips of

my closely shorn hair
