Slow Down
You're Gonna Miss Me When I'm Gone (Boydism #6)
***My dad always had some random advice for the oddities in my world, we called them Boydisms. You're gonna miss me when I'm gone, was one of my favorites.***
I've got miracles scribbled on napkins
the next best thing, heading your way
Dreams on a string begging for action
the devils new groove in my sway
Footsteps beating on the pavement
always looking for a spark
Gotta find a new direction meant
for lost and wandering hearts
I'm wading through the noise and chaos
silently collecting those spare parts
An undercover in surveillance
waiting until the magic finally starts
Striking hard the unlit matches
connecting the moment that it sparks
Covering with patches all the scratches
declaring my work a piece of art
You see, I've shadowed all the greats
and kept a small bit for myself
No time for hesitating
this is my time to create, hell
You think you've heard it all before
but here's a twist no one saw coming
A treasure in a discount store
a barefooted racer in the running
A loser with a winning hand
who never took the time to gamble
In a language no one understands
all I succeed in is to ramble
On and on and on it goes
until I've finally been tuned out
It's what I expected, I suppose
I'm raining words during a drought
You're gonna miss me when I'm gone.....
