Sisters by choice
Blood isn't the only bond
Beneath the laughter and the jokes,
Lies a pain that you always hold.
A pain that has become constant,
A weight that's heavy, and so hard to bear.
We met in third grade, and we clicked,
Two outcasts in a sea of kids.
We shared our secrets, and our dreams,
And built a bond that nothing could break.
But life had different plans for us,
And we were forced to part ways.
I moved away, and left you behind,
And in the years that passed, we lost touch.
But fate brought us back together,
And we picked up where we left off.
We laughed, and cried, and shared our lives,
But the pain still lingers in your eyes.
You have been through so much,
You’ve lost those you held so dear
And the weight of their loss, has taken its toll,
Its driven you to cope in ways you shouldn't.
But despite it all, you still stand,
With a strength that's truly astounding.
You’re a mother, and a friend, and so much more,
And I know that you have the strenght to rise again.
I'll be here for you, through thick and thin,
And offer my hand when you need it.
I'll be your rock, and your safe haven,
And help you find the light again.
So let the tears flow, and the heart ache,
For the pain that you bear.
But let's not forget, the love we share,
And the memories we'll always hold dear.
My dear friend,
You'll always hold a special place in my heart.
And together, we'll make it through the darkest times,
And come out shining on the other side.
