Singing Like A Bird

Words Taking Form

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished 5 days ago Updated 5 days ago 1 min read

***

The sweetest chords of seduction

fall like salvation from her lips

A serpent born of Eden

her legs wrapped round my hips

Parallel expectations

matching each step that I make

A timeless dance of syncopation

true desire to partake

A shrike sings the capers

of my lover and I

Headlined in the newspaper

to be one till I die

To the heavens above

I swear, never to waver

She is the pinnacle of love

and my stricken hearts savior
