Sincerely, A Grateful Trauma Victim
Shedding the Chains of Abuse One Story at a Time
Have you ever started telling a story thinking it was a funny anecdote, only to realize everyone is at staring you in horror because you’re talking about your abusive ex punching a hole through the wall in the middle of brunch?
I’m sure I’m not the only survivor who finds it incredibly difficult to talk to people I know about the abuses I’ve endured.
For those like myself with trauma disorders such as CPTSD, bringing up our pasts can be incredibly difficult, in part because we know it can be alarming and distressing for our loved ones. However, being able to communicate and work through traumatic memories can be incredibly healing, and I’ve found a source of boundless comfort in sharing what I’ve been through with the blogging community.
I feel truly fortunate to have found a gracious, welcoming space in which to share my story, spread awareness, and connect with other survivors.
Thank you to those who have stumbled onto my page for the first time and to those who have chosen to stay. You inspire me to continue the work of processing my trauma and sharing what I learn along the way.
