Simply Deaf?

Symphonic screams awaken an inaudible version of truth, resounding tired lyrics that nightmares come to soothe.

Simply Deaf?

You said you weren't like them, lord knows you lied.

I began to let my walls down, lord knows I tried.

When we were right everything was wrong;

Caring for nothing but the sound of our sick and twisted song.

Our notes became rancid, each melody more grotesque.

Our delusional heart beats were never picturesque.

You pulled the plug and I pulled away;

Unwilling to dance through the chaos and morals decay.

Suddenly, we lost the sound. And, there is but one question left.

In hollow silence, am I a living life like a broken record or am I simply deaf?

About the Creator

Jollyoddbod Poetry

Here I am, and here I'll stay;

Like the moon in the darkness that refuses to fade.

Clouds will cover, but cannot take from my reign;

Mark this as the moment that they realise, as they scoff with distain.

They fell asleep, I cannot be blamed.
