SIDE BY SIDE

(True love for two wonderful people)

We stood side by side when we said, “I do,”
We were then pronounced husband and wife.
As each day is ending, I know I am blessed
When I think of my wonderful life.
Side by side, we solve everyday problems;
We made it through rough stormy weather.
We vowed that nothing would pull us apart;
We share every burden together.
We’ve made so many wonderful memories:
Vacations and trips to the shore.
At times, we have run into problems;
But the fun has been so much more.
We always manage to get a bit lost,
Then you laugh when I can’t read the map.
When it’s my turn to drive, I’ve noticed,
Within seconds you’re taking a nap.
We’ve seen the kids grow, marry and leave,
And we’ve always been satisfied.
We know in our hearts that we did our best –
And we did it all side by side.
