She was but Thief in the night

A con woman heartless and cold

She was but Thief in the night

Like a fast-moving tornado,

she blew into his boring life,

Then conned him of all his money

once she became his wife.

She played the part of lover sweet,

her words a velvet snare,

A perfect act, deception

masked beneath her golden hair.

She drained his pockets,

then stole his heart,

then vanished in the night,

Leaving only empty rooms

where love once burned so bright.

No trace, no trail, no single clue,

just echoes of her lies,

A broken man, a shattered dream

beneath the darkened skies.

And now he warns the foolish hearts,

who fall for beauty’s glow,

love that’s bought with whispered words

Is not love it is just a fatal show.
