‘She sings still’

A poem

‘The Glow Pt. 2’ album cover by The Microphones

The thunderclouds split their dome

In, the sun inhaling her warm vocals, out

She shines brightly on my new figure

Two mountains of vicious claws

Reduced to bare human hands

Lungs soften as the rain dissipated

It’s so easy to breathe

Shining so free

The evil, the twisted, confusion of a world so cruel

Fleeting compared to her frame

I retreat from my cave just to see

The spectacle unravels and shrinks to dust

The rubble and ash of yesterday, fluttering

These winding paths glow brighter

as she sings, still
