She never knew

Saplings dropped from the heavens

She never knew

How long it would take

To grow her roots

So deep

That they’d reach the other side of the world

Through the rocks

Through the oceans

Intertwining to meet the oldest elm

Her roots seemed too frail to touch his

Even though they were ultimately connected

Deep in her soul, was every sliver of emotion that existed in the universe

Even the wise elm couldn’t see how much there was to learn

This tiny sapling of a humanoid

Had all the tools but was made forgotten of all the magic she had

Someone had cut her down for being the wise old elm for far too long

Vengeance was the worlds penance

For a small innocent sappling could never lead the way to wisdom
