SHADOWS OF FIRST IMPRESSIONS
A friend indeed a friend in need
In the shadows of first impressions, we met,
A tale of chance, destiny's sweet bet.
Not a spark at first, just a passing glance,
Yet little did I know, it was the start of a dance.
As we prepared to part ways, about to leave,
The beauty in you, my heart did perceive.
Was it distance or pain that unveiled the art,
Of our intimate friendship, a masterpiece from the start?
I once steered clear of hearts worn on sleeves,
Yet, you taught me the beauty a true friend achieves.
In the quiet moments and the words left unspoken,
Our bond blossomed like promises unbroken.
Public displays, I once viewed with some reserve,
But with you, my perspective took a gentle swerve.
You showed me the strength in vulnerability,
A lesson I cherish, a newfound ability.
Through your eyes, I've learned to see,
The beauty in sharing, both bold and free.
A promise made, as the farewell drew near,
To craft you a poem, sincere and dear.
Promised a poem, here it now stands,
Crafted with love, in my hometown lands.
Diamond, a friend, rare and true,
I've learned from you, and that's my cue.
So here's to you, my friend so true,
In the poetry of life, I'm grateful for you.
A friendship uncut, like the finest of gems,
An unspoken bond, where the heart condemns.
A dance of souls, a melody refined,
In the book of Memories, a chapter is intertwined.
Thank you for being such a friend,
In this tale of appreciation, may our bond never end.
