Intimate warmth swaddles my world

aqueous heritage shared.

Architectonic waters swirl,

our hearts eternally paired.

• • •

Tympanic pulses of naked trust

cloak me, content, in your matrix.

Caressing nutrients you thrust,

cloning your life and genetics.

• • •

Your lilting voice, stereophonic,

from a distance, sweetly portends.

Dancing in my mind, melodic,

My birthday is coming, a grand event.

• • •

Very soon, when I’m charmed to the light,

you’ll touch my hand, I’ll see your face.

Sensorium, our five senses ignite.

Embellishing a sixth, your grace.

••• ••• ••• ••• ••• ••• ••• ••• •••

Dedicated to all the grace of all mothers. Birthdays should be as much about the mother who bore their children for months, suffered great pain, and risked their own life to bring another into this world.

    Phenomenal writing!

  • You know, that makes so much sense. Birthdays should belong to the mothers. A mother with 4 kids should have 4 birthday because technically she gave birth. She did everything, lol! Why do we celebrate our birthday? It feels so absurd. Anyway, I loved your poem!

So much to discover in this piece! Amazing take on the challenge and just in time for Mother's Day. Way to think outside the box!
