Wave gently crashes
Sand soothing
Surf smashes
Dew drops
On eyelashes
Eyes flicker
Light flashes
Moments in time
Cool rhythms
Smooth rhymes
The fullness of the moon
A lover's heart swoons
Smoother than whiskey
Green meadows get misty
Falling in love and tipsy
Clouds romantic and wispy
The wind gently blows
Chances come and they go
Blowing by just to prove
Everything soon, becomes smooth

I First Saw Him
When I first saw him sitting on the wall, relaxed and looking out over the water, I was sure he wasn't a local. Not including children, there are only about 250 or 300 of us in this area full-time, though that number is ten-fold in the summer, and I know everyone at least by sight or by family resemblance. And yet, the way he sat looked familiar and started my mind sorting and discarding among the families I knew, not quite like this one, not quite like that one.

The life of relationships I suppose.
Even the sharpest of knives (or tongues) eventually become smooth, the most jagged of shorelines worn down by the crashing of waves, the edgiest of nights smoothed out by the gentle dawn in a loved one's arms, the roughest of lives in death's gentle slumber.
Another beauty!
