Can you see the mountains in the distance?
Can you see them rolling,
Stretching,
Rising, then
Crashing into each other,
Joining as one,
But each with their own separate space of sky?
Can you see them, looming giants as they are,
Fade into the endless blue,
Can you see them greet the clouds with open arms,
See them roll down,
Down,
Down to meet the gentle waves of the lake?
Can you see the islands reaching for one another,
Stretching their arms in a futile attempt to join hands,
To join the rolling land beyond the waves?
Do you see how deeply the colors blend,
How bluest, deepest blue and hosts of green meld into each other,
And even become the other in the distant haze?
Do you notice the gentle hills emulating their brothers the mountains in their gentle majesty?
Do you see the shadows of the clouds,
Smell the clean, crisp air,
Taste the wind that surrounds you,
Hear the calls of the birds,
Feel the rush inside you?
Take a deep breath and open your eyes.
Did you even know they were closed?
