Second Chances

A Poem

Second chances,

I may as well hand you the gun!

That’s what’s happening, right?

You’ve been playing with my heart for far too long,

I told you “If this is your version of love, then you’ve got it all wrong.” Why can’t I be loved like a somebody?

Am I not a somebody to you?

There is so much going on,

so, let’s have a real conversation

Everything you had done

Made me regret,

Made me think I’d be better off on my own

Always second-guessing,

These voices you put into my head are a reason I’d rather forget,

Second chances seem easier,

Forgiving you so I don’t disappoint

A thousand reasons to run;

It seems you’ve done it again,

Letting myself down,

Looks like you already had a gun

Because now, the blood runs

heartbreak
