Sea and Volcano.

The Paradox of Love

Sea and Volcano.

______By Aranna Hasan Delwar

When tears flow like a river,

The words are soaked,

It seems like a stream is formed

From my eye’s ocean.

I stand by your side,

By the edge of the sea,

The waves of love in my heart,

Crash on your shore.

Your eyes, the blue ocean,

Gaze at me,

I seem to drift in that water,

But you say, "Go back."

Do you not know that love means,

The tale of getting lost?

I still loved you,

But you said, "You're fulfilled."

When I love,

In the depths of the sea,

I want to dive in,

But you ask, "Can you swim?"

Your lips, like fire,

When I try to touch them,

You burn me with volcanic lava.

I wanted to keep you,

But you said, "Not here."

I stand by the fire,

And you ask, "Hey, where will you go?"

How can you love,

When you yourself are fire?

I seem to burn like love,

Constantly.

You are the sea, you are the fire,

I am just the smoke,

You say, "You'll disappear."

I say, "But I'm yours."
