Scent of Water

life is liquid

The sun beat down on the barren wasteland, baking the cracked earth until it was as hard as stone. After many years of thirst, the desert smiled as the raindrops fell from the sky.

The plants danced and the animals sang, rejoicing in the long-awaited gift of water. For so long, they had struggled to survive in the dry and unforgiving landscape, but now, they had been given a second chance.

But in the distance, a lone figure trudged through the heat, their eyes fixed on the horizon.

As they drew closer, it became clear that the figure was a young woman, her clothes tattered and torn, her skin burnt to a crisp. But still, she pressed on, driven by a fierce determination to survive.

Finally, after what felt like hours, she crested a hill and saw it: an oasis, nestled in a small valley below. With a surge of hope in her heart, she quickened her pace and raced down the slope towards the lush greenery below.

As she approached the oasis, she could see that it was guarded by a small tribe of nomads, their weapons at the ready. But instead of attacking her, they welcomed her with open arms, offering her food and water and shelter.

For weeks, she stayed with the tribe, learning their ways and helping them with their daily tasks. And as the days passed, she found herself becoming a part of their family, embraced by their love and kindness.

But eventually, it was time to move on, to continue her journey across the wasteland. As she said her goodbyes and set out into the unknown once more, she knew that she would never forget the oasis, or the tribe that had welcomed her with open arms.
