Saved My Voice

Till the time came it needed to be free

Saved My Voice

For years I stayed afraid to speak

Feeling hurt and growing weak

Every truth remained concealed

Every wound stayed tightly sealed

People laughed at what I said

Filling me with silent dread

I swallowed pain through every night

Hiding far away from sight

Then one day my voice broke free

Like waves crashing through the sea

Every word came out with force

Guided by a stronger course

I spoke about the years of fear

All the scars still living here

Tears fell hard across my face

Still I stood there full of grace

No one could erase my sound

Once my strength had finally found

My heart beat fierce against my chest

No longer buried or suppressed

I wrote my pain across each page

Turning grief into my stage

Lines became my way to heal

Sharing everything I feel

Voices joined beside my own

People tired of feeling alone

Together we rose from despair

Finding power standing there

Now my words refuse to fade

Even through the darkest shade

Saving me from sinking deep

Giving peace I finally keep
