The monsters in my closet

are growing cobwebs.

They cannot compete

with the monsters of my mind.

Thoughts so intrusive,

no demon can startle me.

I am my own nightmare.

The catacombs of my mind

are littered with the bones of broken dreams.

My fears lie dormant

in a sarcophagus of denial.

I cannot slay my dragons

because I cannot see through the fog.

I am the phobias

that I’ve forgotten how to spell,

amalgamated into

a necronomicon of a novel.

I shall ignite the libraries of my mind,

a brain built Alexandria,

my demons smoldering &

drifting as ash

along with the sands of time.
