Sanctuary unclaimed
where are the seekers of solace?

Still the saints are waiting, patient hands outstretched to greet,
In the cold cloth of stone enshrined.
Looking for the step of humble feet, the gentle murmur of penitent lips, or
Even the visits of those for art alone; cameras clicking, mouths agape, yet
Not a single soul appears.
Chapels that bring calm and cathedrals that stir wonder, hallowed halls now
Empty.
