i get happy

just thinking about you

you’re always

on my mind

i get happy

cause im in a really good place

i only have to –   - there it is

and i can see your face

i get even happier

when i see you

cross the road

cause i know

you’re coming here

cigarette.

sunglasses..

sass…

and a healthy dose

of fuck you confidence

everything

is trying to

test me

test you

test us

it's safer

to love you quietly

than to risk

a loud rejection

i know what i want

i know what i need

and yeah

i might piss you off

say stupid things,

annoy you

but i will

love you more

than anyone else

ever could

in this silly world

ever would

no less than you deserve

all the more

reason i should

i want to be near

you so much

i need your heart

i want you and your touch

i want your mind

and i need your soul

i want to share your smiles

i want to brush away your tears

i want to lighten your load

i want to quash your fears

i want to see you so bad

this tension

its real

my love isn't loud

unconfessed,

aint gonna make

it disappear

my secret

my cross

i offer

patience

presence

and protection

it's safer

to love you quietly

than to risk

a loud rejection

so, i try to play it cool

better when you're here

than far away

better when you’re near

than far away

i love you more

than you know

i love you deeper

than i show

never wanna

see you go

it's safer

to love you quietly

than to risk

fucking it up forever

i want you now

i need you near

because losing you

is my greatest fear
