if all it took was another note
echoing back to me
maybe sad songs
really do make me cry
a small window seeing everything except itself
before closing at a second glance
if i had another chance to say goodbye
i wouldn't
i wouldn't
rainy eyes face unearthly defeat
as a full moon repeats its arrival
baiting me to the all consuming
and asking who will bite
if you had another chance
to check if i was all right
you wouldn't
i know you wouldn't
again with your magnetic blues
ringing in my ears, and to you so antique
i can't blame you
if you don't hear sad songs the way i do
even though
i'm the one
singing them to you
