Sad Madness

A Villanelle

By Judah LoVatoPublished 6 months ago Updated 6 months ago 1 min read
First is Sadness, Then Comes Madness

First is sadness

A heart falling

Then comes madness

———

Where is gladness?

It's life stalling

First is sadness

———

A certain blandness

Is flavor calling?

Then comes madness

———

A curtain's slackness

Black veil palling

First is sadness

———

Lost in vastness

Life is galling

Then comes madness

———

A grief's exactness

Heavy heart hauling

First is sadness

Then comes madness

heartbreak

    a wonderful villanelle!

  • This is a perfect villanelle and a great subject. I have seen so many that "interpret the villanelle form" even getting Top Stories. If it doesn't keep to the form it is not a villanelle. Great work
