I am your Soldier.

Loyal and true.

Unquestioning and a lover through and through.

Marching with my chest out

And heart on my sleeve.

Confident that I’m the only Soldier

You’ll ever need.

I follow your every order,

Give in to your wildest desires,

Stand at Attention

And Call out At Ease.

Showing you the utmost respect.

Waiting on your beck and call.

Sacrificing myself

Ready to give you my all.

All my love and all my patience.

The gifts, quality time, and all my acts of service.

Yet it all meant nothing when I found out

Your plans and the horrible truth.

I’m just a toy Soldier,

No more than just a sacrificial lamb.

It was written out all on the table.

Your lies, you sleeping with the enemy,

And your true identity.

You’re a double agent.

And I’m just a means to an end.

A toy Soldier,

Disposable

And loyal to the very end.

How didn’t I see it before?

How could I let you fool me?

Was it your devilish smile,

Your disarming seductive scent,

The way you made love to me,

Or was it my own unwavering loyalty

And desire to be loved that truly blinded me?

I’m a toy Soldier fighting for a lost cause.

Your love,

Something I thought I had,

But this was a suicide mission

And I wish I had known that.

As the cold metal touched the back of my head.

It’s funny looking back now.

Because I've always been fighting on unstable ground,

Never able to win your love while in the enemy’s territory.

I just never guessed that this time, when I looked back

It would be you.

Not there to watch my back,

But holding the gun

Saluting me for a job well done.
