And Cowboys

You wore those Tony Lamas

like I wear my old pajamas

Like you couldn't find more comfort

in a pair of levi jeans

I forgot the warning signs from mama

and fell head first into your drama

My common sense fell in the dirt

with my heart bustin' at the seams

**

Now I'm on this runaway train

taking me away, somewhere out west

I'm out here spinning in the rain

while my heart's racing in my chest

I'm afraid I've handed you the reins

I've fallen hard, I must confess

Look at me, I'm Jessie James

an outlaw, in a wedding dress

**

You stole my heart just like a bandit

slipped it right off of my sleeve

And like poor Jack on the Titanic

drowned in your love, till I can't breathe

I've never thought myself romantic

but won't you take a look at me

You're the steel and I'm a magnet

ain't nothing getting' in-between

**

Now I'm on this runaway train

taking me away, somewhere out west

I'm out here spinning in the rain

while my heart's pounding in my chest

I'm afraid I've handed you the reins

I've fallen hard, I must confess

Look at me, I'm Jessie James

with an outlaw, in a wedding dress

**

So, take it easy, cowboy

as you two step with my heart

You're leavin' me with no choice

It's too late, I've fallin' way too hard

You have me hangin' on the clouds, boy

fillin' my sky up with your stars

Taught me the true meaning of joy

never withholding any cards

**

Now I'm on this runaway train

taking me away, somewhere out west

I'm out here spinning in the rain

while my heart's beating' in my chest

I'm afraid I've handed you the reins

I've fallen hard, I must confess

Look at me, I'm Jessie James

with an outlaw, in a wedding dress
