Synopsis: Run Baby Run is a suspense thriller directed by Jiyen Krishnakumar, featuring RJ Balaji and Aishwarya Rajesh in the lead roles. The movie revolves around a bank employee named Sathya who encounters a stranger girl named Tara inside his car on his way home from work. Sathya allows her to stay in his apartment for a few hours until her guardian comes to her rescue. However, little did he know that the decision would put his life in trouble as he finds Tara dead the very next morning at his place. He then decides to dispose of the body by transporting it to Senji, his hometown. What follows is a series of incidents that force him to find out who Tara is and why she has been murdered.

Review: Suspense thrillers are always a treat to watch, especially when the writer manages to keep the viewers hooked throughout the film. Run Baby Run is one such movie that keeps us interested from the very beginning. The film starts with the suicide of a government medical college student, Sophie, and then introduces us to Sathya, who is also planning to end his life. The writer takes us back in time to reveal the connection between the two characters.

The first half of the movie is gripping, with some unexpected twists and turns. The reason why Sathya decides to seek justice for a stranger is quite effective and organic. The emotions in suspense thrillers always work, and in fact, they're the only thing that takes the story forward. Aishwarya Rajesh's screen presence and expressive eyes force the viewers to empathise with her plight. The technical aspects of the film, including cinematography and music, are top-notch and help us connect with the characters and their conflicts.

However, the second half of the movie turns into an investigative thriller and is slightly disappointing. Although a few twists work well, they are not impactful enough. The final reveal could have been staged better, as the writer tells us who the killer is, but our reactions are just blank. We are neither shocked nor surprised. If the writer had made us travel with the killer from the beginning, it would have been much more effective.

RJ Balaji's performance is good enough to keep the audience entertained, but his character looks confused in most parts. A few other good artists, including Hareesh Peradi, Bhagavathi Perumal, Isha Talwar, and Vivek Prasanna, are not utilised to the fullest.

The success of Run Baby Run is not the story but the intriguing narration technique that's incorporated throughout. Though the writing loses steam near the end, certain unexpected events in the first half keep us interested. Also, the reason why the protagonist, a common man, decides to seek justice for a stranger is quite effective and organic. The suicide of an innocent driver, who becomes one of the prime suspects in Tara's case, is one of the major arcs in the film.

Emotions in suspense thrillers always work, and in fact, they're the only thing that takes the story forward. However, there was a feeling that the final reveal could have been staged better. When the writer tells us who the killer is, our reactions are just blank. We are neither shocked nor surprised. If the writer had made us travel with the killer from the beginning, it would have been much more effective.

RJ Balaji's character looks confused in most parts, given the fact that the character is dealing with a lot of complexities and questions. However, after a certain point, it gets monotonous. His performance isn't spectacular, but it's good enough to keep the audience entertained. Aishwarya Rajesh's screen presence and expressive eyes force the viewers to empathise with her plight. Also,Rethika Srinivasan, who comes only for a brief period of time, has delivered a good performance. There are many good artists in the film, including Hareesh Peradi, Bhagavathi Perumal, Isha Talwar and Vivek Prasanna, but none of them were utilised to the fullest. The technical aspects of the film have nothing to complain about. Both cinematography and music help us to connect with the central characters and their conflicts. Run Baby Run has all the ingredients that a crime thriller requires but is not powerful enough to linger in our minds.

In conclusion, Run Baby Run has all the ingredients that a crime thriller requires but is not powerful enough to linger in our minds. The intriguing narration technique used in the film keeps us interested, but the lack of impact in the second half and the final reveal make it fall short of being a great suspense thriller.
