Run Away Fast As You Can
Don’t stop till your far away and safe

Run Away Fast As You Can
Run away fast as you can
Before the shouting turns into hands
Before the bruises replace your smile
And fear becomes your normal life for awhile
Love was never meant to leave scars
Or make you afraid beneath the stars
It was never meant to break your soul
Or strip away your self control
At first the words were sharp and cold
Small cruel lies slowly told
You kept forgiving, hoping change would appear
While hiding another falling tear
Then came the anger slammed through walls
The sleepless nights, the desperate calls
Promises spoken after pain
Then the same darkness came again
You blamed yourself for far too long
Trying to stay loyal, trying to stay strong
Yet no heart deserves to live in fear
Waiting for violence to suddenly appear
Real love does not control your mind
It does not leave your spirit behind
It does not make you shake at night
Or silence your voice to avoid a fight
Run before the damage grows deeper
Before your sadness becomes a keeper
Before your reflection no longer sees
The person you once used to be
There is no shame in walking away
Survival matters every single day
And even shattered hearts can mend
Once the nightmare finally ends
One day you will breathe without fear
And realize freedom was always near
The pain they caused was never your blame
Their cruelty alone should carry the shame
So run away fast as you can
Choose yourself, make your stand
Because your life still holds a light
Waiting beyond the darkest nigh
