Rumors of love

I've heard it before. 

Rumors of love.

They once enlightened me about it.

Yet I never believed it was true.

They said that love is blind.

They said that pain is love. 

Some say it has implications.

Some say it ends with tears.

Now I understand,

That love isn't only sweet.

Sometimes it's sour.

The truth is that love requires sacrifice.

It requires truthfulness,

and keeping promises to one another.

I have shed tears out of love.

It broke my heart.

I believe that love hurts.

I've decided to stop loving.

And I will live my life freely.
