"...did all your losses force to grow older?"

There was a time when you ruled the world,

When I believed nothing could take you down.

There was a time when your throne sat at the top of the hill,

But it's darkened in the valleys now.

If ruling the world meant losing yourself,

Then it's pathetic how your kingdom fell.

Do you remember your biggest dreams?

And how you vowed to take the world out?

A man with a hand to his heart—fell over.

Tell me now,

Did all your losses force you to grow older?

There was a time when you ruled the world

And I believed in your dominion.

Back then,

We were children who swore our sandcastles would never falter.

Then again,

Our words were like paper planes—weightless with no direction.

Do you remember your biggest dreams?

And how you vowed to take the world out?

A man with a hand to his heart fell over.

Tell me now,

Did all your losses make you feel colder?
