A poem

Malty air filled with anticipation

Glasses half full,

Never half empty

Of foamy, golden brew.

The buzz of a roaring crowd,

The shrill of song

All faint

The universe completely melting away,

But you’re still here.

What was born as a glance

grows to a gaze

You know me completely,

But you’ve never witnessed my name

You carry me in your eyes,

I hold you in mine

The sun is falling asleep,

What is time?

I stumble in the dark,

Wanting to find the courage to say

The stars are flawless and right,

If only I was as certain as fate.

Electricity sailing through me,

Goosebumps surging my frame

Scarlet remnants of a volcanic gush,

Lava flowing over my face

Set my cheeks ablaze,

Like flames

Stretching toward the sky,

twisting and flickering between us.

I am overthrown,

Floating

Like the crown of dandelion seeds

Little me used to puff away

with a few bubble gum breaths

Wishing,

Hoping for this rosy moment
