I've got longing that begs to be wrestled
and a sorrow that longs to be free
Letting go to be lovingly nestled
under the witness of evergreen trees
To dance fluidly like the moonlight at midnight
on the surface of a cool body of water
To roll in like the thunder, undeterred in the sky
tripping over lost thoughts I have, with wild wonder
Goodbyes clap louder, it seems, in the silence
you can’t help but hear the deafening sound
Filling completely, all of the senses
like eruptions rising from under the ground
Watching as the ripples dance on the water
leaving behind, distorted fingerprints of God
Growing larger as they reach for the shoreline
stirring feelings I'd once set aside
But sometimes peace finds you in the right moment
like the waves that crash over the sand
Reminding us that this journey is cogent
even those that we can't understand
