It’s been

so long

since hello

.

An old song

pours from the radio

in a flood across my unswept floor

.

who can breathe

through such a story

of new love and the whirr

of lives wed to wandering

of the wonder in being wholly tied to

and apart from another

of hearts and bones bent in

afro-hawaiian-polka-waltzing

cheek-to-cheek

.

are these tears of joy

or melancholic memory

recalling

a fraying fantasy:

the elusive magic

of whispered perfume

that lingers far beyond

the cradle of space

between soft lips

in the dark

.

this consequence

of an old song

of an unswept floor

.

how halfglad i’m made

to say hello

to say so long

About the Creator

Sean Balogh

A lover of soft cheese and delayed gratification. I prefer plants to people, more often than not. Most of these words should find a home among the compost but hey, at least I'm still writing.
