Return to One
A Poem for Our Future
Fractals of Light dance before my eyes
Ancient remembrance
Of Magnetic Passion
Birthing Cosmos of reality
Exquisite order making love with Divine chaos
Blending in perfect syncopation
Shaping our story
Rapid displays of human essence
Repeating well-worn patterns
Karmic foreplay
Paying a debt never owed
Trapped in an endless experiment
Called “Duality”
The pattern repeats
Meteoric successions
Stream from One Source
Fractured into angular, multi-dimensional shapes
Screaming countless centuries of our story
A chasm so deep
We forgot what it is to be whole
The fall from grace
From pleasure to pain
Life to death
Love to hate
Or is it simply the will to dominate?
One soul over another
Sexes warring
Values engaging
Religion enraging
Separating
An endless debate too long for CNN
Infinite cycles of trauma
Passed through every turn of procreation
We turn on ourselves
Like the animals we claim we no longer are
And yet
Within and around it all
Wellsprings of tortured beauty rise
In the walls of our mortal existence
Devotion and passion shine bright in our eyes
Angles soften to curves of quintessence
Blinding displays of sacrifice
Married with the radical act of forgiveness
Victim heals perpetrator
Captive frees captor
Valor and innocence swing a dance so jive
It reminds us what means to be alive
These fractals and curves
Dueling parts of our nature
Attract and repel
Caught in a cosmic whirl
On universal display
It bodes of great significance
And some sort of part to play
In the twirling pirouette of our jig
A sweet siren’s song from deep within
Heralding a time our chromosomes recall
Her sweet embrace eludes consciousness
Swirling nothingness and blinding Love
Too ethereal to grasp in our palms
A haunting refrain
What it was to be One with the One
The template of Eden
Pleasure and delight
Right and right
Sexes intercoursing
Over the course of eons
Long days spent playing
Imbibing the elixir of life
Well into the night
"Superior" a word foreign to our ear
When Union was all we knew to feel
Are we lost to this endless cacophony of banging sides
Doomed to repeat the lessons of our fathers and their fathers?
Or can we stand on their shoulders
Learn without shame
And form a new shape
Giving power to their name
Perhaps it starts with a revolutionary act
Me loving me
The shattered, sacred, hidden parts
I swore no one would see
Not even me
Because see… this battle of duality
Plays it’s drum deep within my sunless sea
I can be the sinner and the Saint
The virgin and the well-tuned lover
The "fit" girl who can down a piece of cake faster than you can say wait
The jealous, bitchy, needy, controlling, insecure, coward
Too scared of rejection to risk the reward
The unlovable perfectionist who loves so hard
The lazy go getter exhausted from earning her place
The passive aggressive, codependent, Love Buyer
Who just wants someone to stay
Can I free myself of definition and just accept it all
No part less holy than the next
Daughter and mother side by side
Love denied alchemized to love supplied
My bones quake and reverberate
My core says yes
Shadows sublimate
And the miracle occurs
Fractured parts merge into one
Blinding display of Divinity in skin
Stardust cased in pounds of clay
The Philosopher’s stone within my breast
Pounds with the veriditas of life bursting forth
Into a world where dark meets light
To play at twilight like lovers do
Boxes blown
Walls torn down
Division meets the vision of Communion
I can eat that bread
And as I do
I catch your eye
It glints with the wisdom of one who’s unified
With themselves
So they can join with me
And I see
A wide company of pilgrims
Who are ready to be free
And the frenzied pace of our eternal dance
One echo at a time
Slows to a sultry rumba
As we come home to remember
We are ONE
Merging back to the One
The Goddess who birthed us from her womb
Will swallow us back into that tomb
And consciousness will rest
Until the dance begins again

I write because my mind loves to live in the clouds. Building worlds and making connections where there were none is kind of my thing.
