Rest, Sweet Child of Mine

Lullaby

Rest, sweet child of mine,

while I sing over you a lullaby rhyme.

Close your eyes and think about the clouds,

feeling light and free of doubts.

Rest, sweet child of mine,

peace over you, I assign.

Relax your body and embrace life that is carefree,

for one day, you'll have more to worry about, you see.

Rest, sweet child of mine,

so, no need to worry now, or fret, or be crying.

Picture the vibrant colors of a rainbow,

or think about the way lovely flowers grow.

Rest, sweet child of mine,

for when you grow up, for you, my heart will pine.

Ponder on the way a rabbit wiggles his nose,

or about the pretty droplets that rest on a morning rose.
