Pen and pencil within my left hold
Projecting the scars my heart holds
Smearing every word
It's becoming incomprehensible
I can see the residue
On my skin
A reminder of my imperfection
I go to cleanse it
Staring into the sink
Almost head deep
Avoiding my reflection
I will see their disaffection
Through my own eyes
I wish the ugliness was only within
Where at least it could be hidden
The residue isn't reducing
It's only spreading all over my hands
And up onto my body
The water isn't helping
I grab the bleach from beneath the sink
Turn on the shower as hot as it could be
And pour it all over me
It's burning but I keep going
This body needs disinfecting
My skin is blistering
And melting
It's just the sickness leaving
But there's one last thing
I pour the bleach straight into my eyes
I'd rather be blind than watch my demise
I will no longer get sick to my stomach when I see any part of me
This will be my peace.
