Romance,

you have nothing to offer me

other than routine affliction‐

the only "gift" you have given me is hurt...

and, I have nothing to give you in return, but‐

What makes you think I want more?

What's stopping you from believing that I've been tortured enough?...

You know...

I think I'd be better off without you‐

and much like everyone else,

I think you'd be happier with someone other than me.

I don't doubt for a second that we agree on at least that...

Romance,

you are weapon formed be desire,

and wielded by my own heart,

set apart, to tear me apart‐

You wreak havoc on my mind

and inflict wounds that can't be healed, even by time...

What makes you think I want anything to do with you?

You know...

we both know, that I'd be better off without you‐

and just like everyone else,

You and I both know that you'd be a lot happier with someone else.

About the Creator

JM

Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
