Remembering

A Poem

I’ve been feeling you distancing yourself from me,

It’s clear we’re falling into the eye of a hurricane

Never finding the words in the right time,

It’s becoming harder every time,

and now,

Here you go

Remember who we are,

Tearing out the pieces of our hearts,

You wanted this;

Wanting you to feel like you can be free,

Now I’m falling apart.

Always quick to run and hand out my heart,

Rushing round to every call,

I’m getting tired picking up the pieces

Getting tired of feeling like a tool

The truth is,

I didn’t let it go when It was tough;

Through hard times

And the long nights

Remember who we are,

And the time it took to build,

If only I had known it’s not your plan to make it last;

Falling into the eye of a hurricane

Now,

Every memory hangs like weeping willow

Is there something I can do to avoid the memory?

To avoid the hurting

Is there something to make my heart feel better?

Are there things I can say that won’t make it seem worthless?

Remembering who we were,

It’s painful to know

You weren’t going to stay
