Rejection

Comes for everyone, eventually

What is compatibility

What does it mean for you and me

Don’t you think that probably

A really great couple we could be?

Rejection is something that, simply,

We don’t often take lightly

If only others could truly

See us with eyes that truly see

No pain or heartache would be lovely

But that’s not how love works, you see?

Oftentimes when things go poorly

Rejection’s sting comes timely

To those poor souls who, quite frankly

Eat rejection almost daily

From jobs to lovers, what tragedy

To live in such a reality

Rejection’s accompaniment nightly

Singing in one’s head, softly

You’re all alone, no one wants to be

Your friend or lover, so sorry.
